Regional Tour Beginning in Truro to Launch New Fundy Connect Web Space

Cumberland, Colchester, Amherst, Millbrook First Nation, Oxford, Sipekne’katik, Stewiake, Bible Hill and Truro will soon be the latest regions to embark on a provincial initiative to better communicate information about all the things to do and places to see in Fundy.

‘’We are happy to assist communities in the Fundy Region through the provision of one centralized location where residents and visitors alike can check out what’s going on in their community,’’ says Peter McCracken, Regional Manager - Fundy Region, Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage, ‘’Fundy Connect is something we have heard communities and municipalities asking for and we are happy to be part of the delivery.

Parrsboro Website Changes

The website for the former Town of Parrsboro has been discontinued (town.parrsboro.ns.ca).

All municipal information concerning the Community of Parrsboro can now be found on this website.

New Deputy Warden Elected - Joe Van Vulpen

Update on the office of Deputy Warden

The term for serving as Deputy Warden in the Municipality is one year. The Deputy Warden election is held annually at the first Council meeting in November.

At the meeting held November 1, 2017 Councillor Joe Van Vulpen was elected as Deputy Warden for the Municipality of the County of Cumberland.

Notice of Relocation of Services - Springhill

To serve you better, tax payments, water bills, building permit inquiries, and all other general inquiries for the Municipality of the County of Cumberland will move from the former Springhill Town Hall to the Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre effective Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Office hours remain: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Tax Certificate Fee Changes

Please be advised that the fee for a Tax Certificate has been set at $20.00 per assessment account for all of the 13 Districts within the Municipality of the County of Cumberland.

Council adopted this change to our Fees Policy during the Council session held on Wednesday April 21, 2017.

It is anticipated that this uniform Tax Certificate fee will alleviate possible confusion and create a more unified and cohesive fee to our customers.

Use your mobile phone to view collection schedules, receive collection reminders and service alerts for any interruptions to waste collection such as cancellations due to weather. Residents can also sign up online by visiting Cumberland Joint Services Management Authority.
