voteMunicipal Elections are held every four years in Nova Scotia and 2024 is an election year! Municipal Council confirmed that residents of the Municipality of the County of Cumberland will be able to vote electronically, which means they can vote on the internet or by phone (cell or landline). Voting will be available for a 10-day period from Oct. 10 at noon through Oct. 19, 7:00 p.m. You can vote anytime from anywhere during that time! There will also be paper ballots and on election day, voters will be able to vote at one of four polling stations at the Upper Nappan Service Centre, the Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre, the Parrsboro Service Centre and the Pugwash Library.

Voters will be electing a Mayor, as well as a Councillor in the District where they live. There are eight districts in total and the terms for the Mayor and Councillors are four years. Eligible residents will also be able to choose a member of the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.

Municipal Elections in Nova Scotia will be held on Oct. 19, 2024.

Candidate resources and forms

To become an official candidate for Mayor, Councillor or CSAP Member, all relevant forms must be filed by nomination day (Sept. 10, 2024). Form 12: Advertising materials and voter lists

This form outlines the responsibility of all candidates to remove all relevant advertising materials and return elector lists after the election period.
