General Privacy Statement and Requests for Access to Information
As a public body, the Municipality of the County of Cumberland is subject to the Government of Nova Scotia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Part XX of the Municipal Government Act.
The purpose of these acts is to ensure that municipalities are accountable to the public, protect private information collected by municipalities, and give the public the right to request access to records. They also set out criteria for information deemed eligible and ineligible for access.
