Recreation in Cumberland County
From hiking the scenic landscape alongside the world's highest tides to swimming in the warmest ocean water in Canada to organized sports, Cumberland County is home to a wide range of recreational opportunities. People of all ages can go out and explore the shoreline, terrain, lakes, and sports fields of the great outdoors.

Municipality of Cumberland Equipment Loan Program

The Municipality of Cumberland Loan Program is designed to provide access to safe, well-maintained equipment for the purpose of supporting physical activity, and personal enjoyment. Equipment may be borrowed for a 2-week period unless alternate arrangements have been made. Equipment availability is dependant on the immediate and future demand according to programming. Equipment drop-off, pick-up, and storage is arranged through Municipality of Cumberland Parrsboro, Nova Scotia Service Centre (Please call contact below).
Equipment may be arranged for pick up from:
- Parrsboro Service Centre, Parrsboro,
- Dr Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre in Springhill,
- Upper Nappan Service Center, Upper Nappan, or
- Pugwash Service Centre, Pugwash.
