Second Reading and Adoption of the Commercial Development Support By-law 26-14 will take place on Wed., Nov. 18th, 2026 @ 2:30 pm at a Special Council meeting at the Upper Nappan Service Centre.
The proposed By-law would allow eligible commercial property owners undertaking construction, expansion or redevelopment within the Municipality’s designated Commercial Development District to phase in the resulting increase in municipal property taxes over five years, with a maximum annual rebate of $150,000 per eligible property. The program would apply only to the tax increase associated with qualifying new assessment and would not reduce taxes on existing assessment.
