Deputy Mayor Gould has been married for 35 years to Karen and both have lived here all of their lives. They have three children - Daniel, Natalie and Tyler, who are all married and living in Cumberland County. They have five grandchildren and one more on the way. Karen worked as a nurse here for 35 years and is retired and Fred is a licensed plumber, who operated a business here for 10 plus years and then started teaching at Amherst Regional High School for 24 years. He recently retired in June of 2024 and is looking forward to his second term as District 1 councillor.

Councillor Lee is serving her first term in office, bringing a wealth of experience and learning from her role in the mental health and addiction fields. She lifelong resident of the area. She is deeply committed to community service, having actively volunteered in various capacities, recognizing the integral part our volunteers play in our communities. She believes open communication is key to addressing the needs of the community and fostering understanding and connection. Lee now raises her two boys here with her partner. Her favourite place is outdoors, especially near or on the water.

Councillor Redmond has a 16-year history in municipal government, obtaining a certificate in municipal government from Dalhousie University. She says the biggest strengths of the municipality are the volunteer fire departments, youth, small business, community halls, and trying to help keep people active and social in these small community halls. She showcases her beliefs through her participation with different volunteer organizations in these sectors. Her biggest joy is volunteering and especially volunteering with the board at the Sunset Residential Centre.

Councillor Strong is in her first term on council. Strong has a daughter and a soon-to-be 15-year-old granddaughter. She is a member of the Advocate Flood Risk Committee and is past-president of the Advocate and District Development Association. Volunteering is an amazing experience and she encourages everyone to try it.
